MP makes 11th hour bid to save at-risk post offices3.00.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Wed 11th Jun 2008 Local MP Tim Farron is writing to Post Office Limited executives Julia Young and Richard Lynds, who head up the Network Change programme in the North West, in a last-ditch attempt to save Beetham, Leven Valley and Greenodd post offices. Post Office Limited are due to announce the final list of closures in the North West next week, on the 18th of June and Mr Farron is keen to press home the case for saving the three branches. The campaign to save Beetham, Leven Valley and Greenodd post offices has been running for months, and thousands of local people have signed petitions in support of keeping them open. Tim Farron said: "The value that these three branches provide to the communities that they serve far outweighs any financial saving that Post Office Limited would make. "I would like the bigwigs at Post Office Limited to show that they have genuinely listened to the public outcry, and will save these three branches from closure."
