Tim Farron - action not just words for the South Lakes

Tim will travel to Westminster on Monday for a meeting with the national cancer tsar, Prof Mike Richards, to press the case for a cancer treatment centre in Kendal.

Later, Tim will formally present his petition against the closure of Ambleside's University of Cumbria campus in the House of Commons.

On Tuesday Tim will have a number of meetings in parliament, including a meeting with the Royal College of Psychiatrists about their new manifesto 'Fair deal for mental health'.

On Wednesday Tim will be in Prime Minister's Questions and a number of other meetings before travelling back to the constituency.

Back in the South Lakes, Tim will start his day on Thursday by speaking to senior citizens at the Hallgarth Community Centre about life in parliament. In the evening, Tim will be attending the CREA Business Environment Network Awards at the Shap Wells Hotel.

On Friday Tim will be speaking to children at Ghyllside School in Kendal about fair-trade. At lunchtime, he will be setting off the Global Diabetes Walk from Kendal's Market Place.

In the afternoon Tim will be honouring our unsung heroes at a special event for Land Girls, Timber Jills and Bevin Boys. The event, co-hosted by Tim and the Westmorland Gazette takes place at Kendal Town Hall.

Later, Tim will be attending an open day at Grasmere to see plans for a new school and community centre.

On Saturday Tim will be holding his weekly advice surgery at Coniston Library from 10am to 11am.
